TikTok helps dog find new home after shelter return

Max the dog is happier than ever after he found a new home shortly after being returned to the shelter he was adopted from.
The pooch had been with a family for eight years when they had to bring him back “due to unforeseen circumstances”.
Struggling with being in the shelter again, Max’s plight was shared in a clip on social media that showed just how sad he was.

“Max was terrified here. He was heartbroken. He wouldn’t even eat. Then a TikTok video of him went viral and someone Max knew from his old life recognised him. She was eager to get him back to somewhere he felt safe. Somewhere he felt loved,” the Pennsylvania SPCA said in a Facebook post.
The TikTok was posted by shelter worker Sarah Brown a couple of weeks ago and has since been watched 2.4 million times.
“This job breaks my heart daily. Max will be looking for a new home shortly at @The Pennsylvania SPCA,” she captioned the clip.
In a follow-up video, Brown shared the moment Max was greeted by his new family, who already knew him from before he was brought to the shelter again.
“They say everyone comes into your life for a reason. I think its the same for dogs. Thank you to Max’s old friends who have turned into his new family,” Brown captioned the clip.
When Max’s new owners started walking him out the door, Max was so eager to get going he was pulling on the lead.
